#‎Awareness‬ against ‪#‎witchcraft‬ and ‪#‎superstitions‬ : I would like to bring it to notice of Jharkhand government and Jharkhand police, seeking attention towards a recent incident of a woman and her family been beaten up accusing them of practicing witchcraft and blackmagic.
Superstition in our country can give way to breaking rules and taking law and order in hand when villagers threaten a family of publicly killing them and mass surrender before police after the crime!

The incident took place recently on27th September at Dabu Chirotoli, Dumri block of Gumla district in Jharkhand, bordering Chhattisgarh.
A fifty-year- old woman Phool Kumari, her husband, brother-in-law and his wife were all beaten and thrashed by villagers and were forces to consume urine and human excreta in front of everyone.
The aggressive women in village accused Phool Kumari of being indulged in black magic practices which invariably brought problems to villagers' families. They alleged that despite warning her earlier, she continued her practices in which her family supported her.
" Hence, we punished all of her family members as well. She's a 'dayan' (witch) and if anything wrong happens in village again, we would kill her and mass surrender before Dumri police," the villagers had threatened.
Isn't it a human rights violation? It's also deep rooted superstition that has triggered this up.
While Jharkhand has been witnessing unbated number of incidents of witch-hunt with harassment of women, I, Dr Dinesh Mishra, representing Andh Shraddha Nirmulan Samiti demand for immediate intervention from Jharkhand police and government before an untoward incidents takes place with this woman and other women as well. Their Security should be prioritized.

#‎Awareness‬ against ‪#‎witchcraft‬ and ‪#‎superstitions‬ ..झारखण्ड की सरकार एवं पुलिस प्रशासन से अपील .. कृपया ध्यान दें ‪#‎झारखण्ड‬ के गुमला जिला के डुमरी प्रखंड से अंधविस्वास के कारण डायन के संदेह में महिला प्रताड़ना का एक मामला सामने आया है जिसमे गुमला लातेहार और छत्तीसगढ़ के सीमावर्ती इलाका उदनी पंचायत अन्तर्गत दाबू चिरोटोली गांव में ‪#‎डायन‬ बिसाही के आरोप लगाकर 27 सितम्बर को गांव के कुछ लोगो ने 50 वर्षीय फूलकुमारी देवी उसके पति भाकर मुंडा ,देवर सल्टू मुंडा और फरन तुरी की जमकर पिटाई कर दी और फूलकुमारी देवी और फरन तुरी को मल और मूत्र खिलाया सारी वारदात गांव के सुखराम मुंडा के घर पर हुई। गांव की महिलाए फूलकुमारी देवी को जादू टोना करके गांव के पशुओ और मनुष्यों को बीमार करने का आरोप लगाते हुए उन्हें डायन बिसाही करार देते हुवे आक्रोशित थीं, गांव के कुछ महिलाये रामपति देवी चीरो देवी कान्ति देवी सहित अन्य का कहना था कि पूर्व में भी उक्त महिला को कई बार चेतावनी दी गई थी पर सुधार नही हुआ, तब हम सब मिलकर दंड दिया और आगे गांव में किसी प्रकार की घटना होगी तब हम सब मिलकर फूलकुमारी को मार डालेंगे और लाश लेकर डुमरी थाना में सामूहिक रूप से सरेंडर करेंगे। ****यह घटना न केवल मानवाधिकार का उल्लंघन है बल्कि *ग्रामीणो के अन्धविश्वास के कारण इन महिलाओ की जान को खतरा बना हुआ है .चूँकि डायन के संदेह में प्रदेश में अनेक महिलाओ की हत्या हो चुकी है .इसलिए हम झारखण्ड की सरकार एवं पुलिस प्रशासन से मांग करते है कि इस मामले पर त्वरित कार्यवाही कर उक्त महिलाओं की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करें. डॉ.दिनेश मिश्र अध्यक्ष अंधश्रद्धा निर्मूलन समिति एवं संयोजक कोई नारी डायन /टोनही नहीं अभियान. mob.9827400859
