 A woman in jharkhand,district simgeda was allegedly branded as witch was thrashed and tonsured by a group of villagers.I strongly condemn this incidence. This is very inhuman and barbaric which needs strong legal action on all acussed.

This incidence happened  near kombakera  at Ganjhutoli village under  Simgeda

 district in jharkhand.

A  55 yrs aged woman , was  allegedly caught by angry villagers on suspicion of being involved in black magic. They were thrashed, tonsured and paraded naked in the village.

  Dr. Dinesh mishra said  This happened when India is busy in fighting against COVID 19 pandemic .

  The incident happened after death of  one villager.  Villagers suspected that  the man died due to the witchcraft practices of this woman. Soon after a village meeting was held, attended by many residents, which was led by village priest where. 

Furious with the woman the villagers took the decision of punishing  her for black magic.on 19th september

villagers allegedly thrashed that woman, shaved their head, forced them and then paraded them naked across the village.and also fined five hundred rupees. 

    Initially, the woman stayed mum as she was afraid of the villagers. When the information reached the police, they visited the village and asked the woman to file a complaint against 50 acussed.

some of the villagers protested against police action but 9  accused were arrested.

 Dr. Dinesh Mishra President of Andh shraddha Nirmulan samiti highly condemned this act .He said, There is no existence of black magic,this women was tortured due to superstition.  Government should take strong action against all  acussed.
