 Five women in Bihar ,district Katihar were allegedly branded as witches were thrashed ,paraded,&forced to consume faeces & urine  by a group of people.I strongly condemn this incidence. This is very inhuman and barbaric which needs strong legal action on all acussed.

 This incidence happened  at khaira village under the muffassil Police Station of katihar district in  Bihar on 20 september.

All Five women of the same family at a place in village when they were allegedly caught by angry villagers on suspicion of being involved in black magic. They were thrashed,  and paraded  in the village.

 

This recent incidence of women atrocities in khaira  has put humanity to shame. 

 Dr. Dinesh mishra said  This happened when India is busy in fighting against COVID 19 pandemic and country is under lockdown. 

According to local media reports, the incident took place After the Six years old girl fell sick 1month ago. After  public rituals, witch doctors blamed those women for  illnesses .They also alleged that the women practised black magic.

  Soon after a village meeting was held where  more than 100 villagers allegedly thrashed those five women & forced them to drink urine, and then paraded them naked across the village. 

Local police lodged a case and arrested 2 people .

Dr. Dinesh Mishra President of Andh shraddha Nirmulan samiti highly condemned this act .He said, There is no existence of black magic,these women were tortured due to superstition.  Government should take strong action against all  acussed.  We will visit the village and arrange awareness campaign in this area after lockdown period.
